Oleificio Guccione has been producing high-quality olive oil in Chiaramonte Gulfi, a small village in the Iblei Mountains of southeast Sicily, since 1966. This region is considered the best for producing premium olive oil with an average polyphenol level of 4000 mg/kg and low acidity of less than 0.2%.
Zahara is an Italian work of art and has been awarded the prestigious Gambero Rosso "3 leaves" for the last four consecutive years, as well as being highly regarded by leading international catering organizations and magazines like Gambero Rosso, Slow Food, and Der Feinshmecker. It is an exceptionally flavorful and well-balanced extra virgin olive oil rich in polyphenols and vitamins, with low acidity and notes of tomato leaf, Mediterranean herbs, thistle, nettle, and white pepper. Zahara pairs well with a variety of dishes, such as cooked and raw vegetables, caprese, Sicilian orange salad, vegetable soups, grilled meat, and fish.
It's made from the olives of the 'Tonda Iblea' variety, which is a heritage variety that belongs to the local area. Guccione uses a traditional artisan method that has been passed down for generations, delicately handpicking the olives from centuries-old trees and turning them into oil within hours of harvesting in the family mill. The cold pressing technique is used to extract the most intense flavor and maximum benefits from the olives.
Zahara is the perfect gift for every gourmet, as each bottle embodies the tradition, fragrance, and colors of the beautiful territory from which it comes. Its design pays tribute to the history of Sicily and has received significant awards for food packaging.
