CHIANTI DEI COLLI SENESI BISKERO
Salcheto, the prestigious estate in Montepulciano, indeed produces exceptional wines, even in their entry-level range. The Biskero is a delightful Chianti that combines fruity notes, smoothness, and the magnificent expression of the Sangiovese grape. Salcheto is one of the leading references for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in Tuscany.
The vineyards are cultivated organically, and with the involvement of Michele Manelli, co-owner, this winery has quickly reached the top of the region.
In addition to their great wines, Salcheto owns a few hectares of vineyards outside the Vino Nobile DOCG area dedicated to Chianti production. These wines also benefit from the highest quality classification and have obtained DOCG status. The main grape used is Sangiovese (85%), along with Canaiolo, Mammolo, and Merlot.
After fermentation, a portion of the Chianti is aged in 300-liter American oak barrels. This imparts recognizable aromas and flavors that make the wine very approachable. It is the perfect wine to accompany salads, chicken, or simply enjoy on its own. It is also quite enjoyable when slightly chilled.
