ROSSO DI MONTEFALCO
The Rosso di Montefalco from Briziarelli is a red wine that results from a harmonious blend of Sangiovese (60%), Merlot (30%), and Sagrantino (10%) grape varieties. The grapes are grown in vineyards exposed to the southwest, at an average altitude of 265 meters above sea level, and are hand-harvested. The vinification process takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with a 22-day maceration on the skins. After undergoing malolactic fermentation, which brings smoothness and body to the wine, it ages for 20 months in steel tanks, followed by an additional 4 months of refinement in the bottle. Approximately 20,000 bottles of Rosso di Montefalco Briziarelli are produced each year.
During the tasting, the Rosso di Montefalco from Briziarelli reveals an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it captivates with seductive aromas of Morello cherries and wild berries, intertwined with notes of cocoa and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it stands out for its smoothness and elegance, thanks to perfectly integrated tannins and a subtle balance between fruity and spicy flavors. It has a pleasant and dry finish. This wine pairs ideally with cured meats, semi-aged cheeses, as well as red meat and game dishes.
